Indoor Herb Garden

Looking for an easy way to start your herb garden early? Try this out. Its simple and easy and wont take too much time!!! :)

You know those foam egg cartons you never know what to do with? Save them up, the plastic ones too. Next thing you want to do is to buy those flat soil pods that expand when they get wet and of course seeds too! We have planted peppers, tomatoes, and all sorts of other herbs and plants.

Take your foam egg cartons (bottoms only, cut apart) and put a soil pod in each spot, add water and plant your seed. Then take the  plastic egg cartons, cut them up and make a mini green house by setting it on top of the seedlings. You will only need to do this for a short period of time. Once your plants look like this there is no need to cover them any more.

Here is our set up. We took boards and put them across our window in out living room, then we put our herbs on our cheap little man made shelves. Easy Peasy!!!

Make sure you water them daily.
And don't forget to label them!

Here is a list of what you will need:

Foam and Plastic Egg Cartons
Scissors
Soil Pods
Seeds
Labels
A Window

That is all!!! Happy Planting!!!

Simple Ways to Go Green With YOUR Family!!!

I know sometimes people think its too hard or too expensive to go GREEN... I totally can see where you would think this, but what if I told you that changing just one thing per month can make the difference??? Would that change your mind?

So here is the deal. You do not have to do everything at once. You can take little steps to go green.
Here are some examples of easy ways to go green and not destroy your budget:

Lightbulbs... Yes I said it, you already knew it and are probably rolling your eyes saying... omg they are expensive, yes they are, but don't replace all of the lightbulbs in your house, just when they burn out, or one a month. Simple enough right? Right!

How about buying your kids a super cool lunch box instead of packing them lunch in a paper bag? Reusable so you will save money over time. But... did you know you can also buy reusable sandwich bags and snack bags? They are super cute and save you a lot of money. I don't know about you, but ziplock bags are super expensive. Here is a link to some bags that are super cute and perfect for your kids lunches!!!

Now come on, this is a small easy way to go green and the initial cost is only $12.95!!! You'll get your money's worth in a few months easily!!!
